Parties and Pools

Summer is just around the corner, and we have been jumping in feet first. With birthday parties, time at the park, and trips to the pool. I especially wanted to share pictures from Rebecca's birthday party and our first trip to one of the French municipal pools...

Rebecca is the sweet little daughter of our friends Aubrey and Peter. She is almost exactly one year older than Oliver (her birthday is May 9, Oliver's is May 24), and was born at the same hospital. In fact, they planned to have her party at the Rodin museum, but it was closed; so they ended up at the same park where we'll be having Oliver's party next weekend. Rebecca is such a cutie-pie!

And since there's a sand pit at this park, Oliver got his first experience... He wasn't sure what to think at first:

Rebecca helped to blow out her candles after we sang happy birthday:

And she opened her presents (I love how animated little kids are about opening gifts!):

A couple of days later, we went to out Boulogne (a suburb of Paris) to visit Isa and the pool. Oliver was a little freaked out for about the first 5 minutes, but he got over it quickly!

He had a blast in the end, both in the big pool:
